Weddings

Drawing on the teaching of the Bible, and of the Church down through the centuries, the Church in Wales Marriage Service talks about marriage as a gift of God. Marriage is described as the lifelong, faithful union between a man and a woman, and married love is compared with the love Jesus has for his people – a love expressed in his willing sacrifice of himself on the cross.

Baptisms

The Gospels tell us that Jesus himself was baptised, by John the Baptist in the River Jordan, and that Jesus commanded his disciples to go out into the world and baptise. Baptism is a sacrament for all those who wish to become his disciples. The Church welcomes to Baptism all who wish to make a declaration of faith in Jesus Christ, including infants and children whose parents and godparents make that declaration on their behalf. Jesus teaches his people that all who would enter his kingdom must be born again of water and the Spirit. Baptism is the sign of this new birth.

Funerals

The loss of a loved one can be a difficult time, and your Parish Priest is there to offer help, comfort and support.

Funeral services usually include the remembering of the person who has died, usually readings from the Bible, prayers (relating to the deceased person and to their family and friends), and hymns or other music.
